As a successful Maths graduate you will be predominantly working with GCSE pupils but there may be a requirement to work with A Level classes. You will be supporting the class teachers within the Maths Department, as well as supporting students on a 1:1 and group basis in your own planned intervention classes to ensure that these pupils achieve their potential in their exams. Due to the high demands of the Maths Curriculum, it is essential that candidates applying for this role do hold a degree in Maths and have an interest in exploring teaching as a career option. You will need to be passionate to inspire young people to be confident in their ability and find an interest in your important subject.

This Maths Academic Mentor role will see you assisting and supporting in the teaching of the school's high-achieving Maths Department. You will work closely with an experienced department of Maths teachers, benefitting from the guidance of Maths leaders and playing an active role in producing new learning opportunities for pupils of all age and ability ranges in their new state of art department. This opportunity will reward you with the essential experience needed to progress onto teacher training or further your career within another field.
