Empowering Learning are looking to recruit a talented English Teacher who shares a vision of student-centred learning, framed within an exciting and flexible curriculum.

As a Teacher of English, you will be a like-minded individual who would enjoy the opportunity to deliver subjects at Key stages 3 and 4. For this role we would be looking for a strong Teacher with experience of delivering English to students within a PRU or similar environments.

The PRU supports the learning of students who reside in the Burton and East Staffordshire area. It is a Staffordshire Local Authority school which works in close partnership with the schools and the various alternative providers in the area. Students will have the opportunity to work in each of these areas to achieve the success that they deserve. The school have very good facilities although on a small scale. The classes are small to enable each student to make quick and rapid learning progress in their social and academic studies.

They offer a broad, balanced and flexible academic and social curriculum, which is accessible to all our students and we ensure that they are fully included in all aspects of school life and into their post 16 plans. They have a positive culture and ethos that all students, adults and families should feel welcome and should have an equal chance to benefit from our school and everything that it provides - safeguarding for all.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for English curriculum development as well as the pastoral care of a small group's with full support by the Head of School. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from mainstream or specialist education or community provision who are looking to move into a SEND setting.

For this role, you will need;

  • QTS or Teaching equivalent
  • SEND/SEMH/PRU experience
  • Experience of delivering English to KS3 and KS4 students
