This is an excellent opportunity to develop your experience working with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children
  • The Local Authority has a large port so has a large amount of Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children
  • You will received specialist training around these themes
  • Other themes include CSE and Missing Children
  • You will receive the equipment required to enable you to work remotely and from home
  • The Authority use the Signs of Safety
  • Diverse caseloads which are much more multicultural than other Authorities in the area
  • Local Authority operates a "buddy" system meaning there is always a manager or senior member of the team available for supervision
This is an opportunity to work with a Local Authority which has a very different demographic to some of the surrounding LA's, which enables its Social Workers to pick up a diverse caseload and work on a number of different themes. Furthermore due to access to a large port in the city you will have the opportunity to work with Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children and develop this experience. In regards to the caseloads this is an ideal assignment which will provide candidates exposure to a number of different cases increasing your competency and allowing you to specialise in specific areas of Social Work.
The Local Authority do operate a "Buddy" system which ensures that there are always managers available should you require additional support or supervision with any of your cases. Although this is a locum post you will receive the same training benefits offered to permanent staff specifically around those specialist themes which are common in the Local Authority
To be considered for this post you should have extensive experience within Child Protection.
