We provide an innovative and unique latent defect warranty solution to the UK house-building and construction sectors. This niche business delivers a product range which combines detailed insurance underwriting knowledge with in-depth construction expertise. Checkmate are currently seeking a .Net developer to assist the Divisional Head of IT on a green field project with amendments and enhancements of the business critical systems through the writing/rewriting of code, documentation of changes, fully testing in a test environment before rolling out to the Live environment.

The role is home-based, so would suit an individual who is flexible, self-motivated, and adaptable, can work on their own and effectively plan and manage their own workload. The role is suited to an individual with experience working on complex website/database solutions using .NET Core, MVC, C# and SQL Server, who has the personality and communication skills to deal with day-to-day staff and Members' requests at all levels.

This role will suit candidates with existing experience in the following type of roles: .NET Developer, Software Developer, Software Engineer, C# Developer, Analyst Programmer.

Key skills required in the role include:

  • .NET Core, C#, MVC, HTML, CSS
  • SQL Server, T-SQL Programming
  • JavaScript and any JavaScript framework is an advantage.
  • An ability to read and understand Classic ASP VBScript
  • A good working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience of working on complex websites
  • Driving license

It would be useful if you also have the following skills and experience, although not a prerequisite:

  • Experience of working in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of the house building or construction sectors
  • A good working knowledge of MS Access
