HR Assistant (Talent and Development)

Up to GBP25,000 per annum (dependent on experience) plus a range of benefits including 25 days annual leave (excl. bank holidays), private medical insurance, and group pension scheme

The Talent and Development team within the HR department at Calor Gas are looking to recruit a HR Assistant to provide comprehensive support to the team in administrative and coordinative tasks in order to ensure that we have the right people, with the right skills.

Key areas of focus will be being the first point of contact for any training, talent and development, apprenticeship, graduate queries and enabling smooth running of the training centre and all development activity.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Administer and coordinate Talent and Development activities and mandatory training for all roles and programmes across the business (internal and external)
  • Key contact for all process governance between Calor and third party suppliers
  • Monitoring and taking action to ensure compliance against agreed company policy or government led regulations e.g apprenticeship administration protocols and procedures, GDPR
  • Producing and maintaining management information such as budgets and training hours
  • Administer the end to end Performance Review process, including collating all forms such as Goal Setting, Mid-Year and End of Year Reviews
  • Making recommendations for changes, process reviews and updating information
  • Proactively coordinate required activity and maintain relationships with external partnerships, such as Investors in People and the Chartered Institute of Management
  • Provide relevant facilities support at the Training Centre
  • Support the creation of a Virtual Learning Environment delivering digital training interventions as required.

As such we would like you to:

  • Have previous experience of working in support and coordination capacity
  • High degree of PC literacy with advanced working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing packages
  • Have attention to detail with proven experience of delivering high quality work to challenging timescales
  • Be confident, resilient, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Have previous experience of coordinating and administering external qualifications such as Apprenticeships or NVQ's.
