Both posts based at Civic Centre – 37 hours per week

We are seeking  two enthusiastic, highly motivated and well organised individuals to join our administrative support team.  The Environmental Health Service is responsible for a wide range of functions, including: food hygiene and workplace safety, pest control, pollution and noise control, public health, housing conditions and all local authority licensing, including taxis / private hire, alcohol, entertainment and street trading.

We offer a busy, but friendly, working environment where you will carry out a wide range of administrative support tasks.  You will need to be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to quickly familiarise yourself with new areas of work.    

A strong commitment to customer service, along with the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, to organise workloads and remain calm under pressure are all essential criteria for these roles.

You should also be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel packages, possess good communication skills, both written and verbal and have knowledge of administration procedures in a busy office environment. 

You must hold GCSE’s at grade A-C in English and Mathematics or be able to demonstrate equivalent vocational experience. 

An administrative qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration and knowledge of Local Government Licensing and/or Environmental Health functions would also be desirable.
