On Line People Limited are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to work for one of our major clients based in Hull. This is a long-term contract position for approximately 2 years.

Role Description:

The Acetyls Business Unit is one of the business units making up the Petrochemicals Strategic Performance Unit, within the Downstream Segment. It is a business engaged in the entire value chain from manufacturing through to marketing and sales. The Acetyls BU is one of the world's leading manufacturers of acetic acid and its derivatives, and owns & deploys its leading technology in Europe, Asia and US.

The Hull Site is the European manufacturing facility for the Acetyls Business Unit and is of significant strategic importance to the Global Business, with a focus on Manufacturing Petrochemicals as well as Research & Technology.

The European Acetyls market is forecast to grow steadily over the next few years and the business is committed to a growth agenda to capture a substantial portion of this market growth. Our core product range is Acetic Acid and Acetic Anhydride.

This role works within the Operations team; who are accountable for delivering safe, reliable and efficient operation of the operated assets, and delivery of agreed operational services to site partners.

The role provides technical discipline support as part of a team of multi-discipline engineers working across the A4, A5 or K1 plants. They provide technical input associated with their core discipline, as well as engagement in broader cross-discipline activities to develop understanding and appreciation of other discipline sets. This is a multi-discipline asset-focussed team who develop and implement short-to-medium term modifications and maintenance strategies in order to optimise individual assets in line with the asset plans and objectives.

They work closely alongside the Operations teams in order to identify issues, and deliver the Engineering activities required to deliver the annual plan and the mid-term performance improvements.

Key Accountabilities:

* Responsible for safe, reliable and efficient maintenance and modification of the A4K1/SO or A5 plant; ensuring sustainable maintenance processes and people are in place to achieve this;

* Ensure all statutory requirements are complied with in area of responsibility;

* Ensure a coherent approach to the setting of maintenance strategies on the asset, and ensure effective implementation of these for their discipline;

* Ensure maintenance requirements are accurately specified in the CMMS, and the output provides a suitable Maintenance Order to be worked on and cost reported by the Maintenance and Contract Services teams. Strive for failure reporting and cost allocations to the equipment level to deliver equipment=specific total cost to maintain;

* Reviews field data and reporting of trends to optimise PM workloads and activities for cost-benefit analysis;

* Secondary originator for MAF/MCF generation for the asset;

* Inputs to the Appraise, and early Select transition to the Projects team, for typical asset development projects;

* Member of the RBI team for the asset;

* Support to HAZOP/LOPA programme;

* Depending on discipline and experience, may be required to chair aspects of HAZOP/LOPA activity;

* Design activity and approvals for repairs and short to mid-term modifications, working with 3rd parties and Production Services as required;

* Ensure accurate equipment criticality is used, to determine the level of preparedness with Task Plans, Stores stock and components list within the CMMS;

* Continuously improve the maintenance data records (master data and PM reporting etc) in support of ongoing efficiency of correct information retrieval;

* Authority to halt design changes which will compromise safe or efficient operation;

* Commission design drawings for significant repairs or modifications, where requested by Maintenance Planners;

* Review, comment on and approve data sheets and design drawings for plant and equipment;

* Ensuring compliance with HSSE standards and expectations set through the group, and fostering a "Believe in Zero" culture;

* Responsible for input to annual budgets and the control of maintenance expenditure to deliver performance against budget. Approve maintenance spend within budget or individual cost allocation;

* Provide discipline engineering expertise and input to mid & long term activities hosted by Production Services, such as growth projects and the HAZOP/LOPA programmes;

* Work closely with the Asset Integrity Engineers to develop asset life monitoring and vulnerability mitigation, feeding in to the asset plans and 10yr capex. Ensure the asset has a coherent plan for the future, coordinating with estimating and scheduling expertise within the Production Services team to ensure future investment profiles are understood and accounted for;

* Support activities which drive standardisation across assets where it has been agreed as suitable, both at Hull and within the wider Petrochemicals;

* Asset teams own the feed-in to the TAR scope/worklist setting, working with the TAR engineers, and are responsible for in-event delivery elements and QA/QC involvement;

* Role may require membership of the Site's Incident Management Team; and

* Lead by example as a role model for the Company's leadership values and behaviours, fostering the development of a diverse and inclusive environment, with a strong 'speak up' safety and operating culture.

Essential Criteria & Qualifications:

Degree qualified with proven industrial experience, or an equivalent experience base within a similar industry sector;

Proven manufacturing/maintenance experience in R&M/Projects/TAR roles within the Petrochemical or Refining industries;

Experience of petrochemical and/or refinery process equipment, reliability, damage mechanisms and failure modes;Understanding of maintenance strategies and integrity management principles;Performance bias;Ability to balance conflicting demands in a continuously developing environment; andGood communicator, interpersonal and leadership skills.

Desirable Criteria & Qualifications:

Chartership (where the discipline has a recognised chartership route); and

Detailed knowledge of Hull site's processes, systems and procedures is seen as advantageous but not essential
