My client is looking for a Shipping Coordinator on a contract basis to safely manage the shipping process of their high value components (Aerospace Manufactured Components). The individual will manage, administer and coordinate all related documentation, records and activities to the Import and Export of goods. All tasks must be undertaken in accordance with UK and International Import & Export legislation.
Key skills needed·Experience in a shipping or customer service function is desirable.·Prior knowledge of airway bill systems and freight forwarder systems is desirable and will be required as part of the role.·Experience/training in import/export practices and trade compliance (US / UK / RoW) is desirable.·Familiarity with ERP software applications (SAP, Quantum etc).·Good inter-personal and communication skills complimented by the ability to prioritise workload with attention to detail and a sense of timeliness.·Strong PC skills including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Job Core Responsibilities·Maintain open communication with both internal and external customers as required on all inbound / outbound related activities.·Liaise with appropriate regulatory authorities including HMRC.·Manage the movement of company goods to any off-site third-party packing companies.·Process plant to plant transfers and stock movements including producing / maintaining supporting documentation.·Responsible for table maintenance in SAP for import and export control activities and also provide support for Quantum ERP system as required.·To manage and process all imports including facilitating Customs clearance at place and time of arrival in a timely manner.·Monitor Inward Processing Relief (IPR) requirements and maintain full IPR records both inbound and outbound.·To review, file, manage and maintain all customs import entry documentation confirming it is correct. Where incorrect, amendments will be requested and followed through to completion until corrected.·To produce all export related shipment documentation including shipping invoices, airway bills and updating the export register as required in accordance with company procedures, HMRC regulations and customer instructions.·Provide data to regulatory authorities as required.·Ensure that export licences are correctly applied and use of them is recorded as part of the inbound / outbound process.·Reporting will be required periodically based upon inbound / outbound activities as requested.·Facilitate transport as required communicating with couriers, freight forwarders and customs clearance agents.·Track and trace shipments and support internal and external customer enquiries relating to shipments, providing updates and solutions as desired.Maintain all import/export records and ensure files are regularly maintained to meet HMRC and Trade Compliance regulations.
