Royal Voluntary Service is an innovative charity that focuses on inspiring people to give the gift of voluntary service to support the NHS and older people at home and in the community. We are now looking for a Co-ordinator to join us for a contract lasting until the 31st March 2020.

If you've got experience of working with volunteers and the organisation skills to make a difference, this is the ideal role in which to do more, help people and oversee some incredible services that are making a huge difference to older people in hospital.

You'll discover that Royal Voluntary Service makes a difference every day and supports those who need us the most. Utilising the generous gift of time that our volunteers donate, we strive to improve the lives of older people and particularly those in hospital or just returning home.

As a Service Co-ordinator, you will have responsibility for co-ordinating a team of volunteers and delivering the 'Supporting Your Recovery' service to residents of Stoke-on-Trent.

You will ensure that older people who are at risk of admittance to hospital, who are leaving hospital, who have recently been discharged and those who have experienced a health crisis are supported and introduced back into their communities.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will:

- Ensure the service runs smoothly and supports recoveries
- Help people reconnect with their community and activities of choice
- Reduce recovery times, readmissions and the impact of isolation and loneliness
- Co-ordinate activities to ensure the service is delivered in line with funding agreements
- Ensure the service achieves its Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Interested? To be considered, you will need:

- Experience of working with volunteers and supporting and motivating them on a daily basis
- Knowledge and understanding of volunteers and voluntary services
- Experience of handling personal information and the legal requirements of this

Self-motivated and resourceful, as a Co-ordinator, you'll have excellent communication skills and plenty of initiative. The ability to build positive and effective relationships and partnerships with both internal & external stakeholders to further our strategic objectives will also be key.

This is a full time role, working 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

The closing date for applications is the 10th May 2019 with interviews scheduled for the 22nd May 2019 in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire.
