We are recruiting for an experienced, self-motivated and creative chef to join my clients team in a high end style fine dining Hotel in Telford.

Responsible to: Head Chef - Line Manager

Job Objective

To deliver an excellent standard of food to all our guests, maintaining the Hotel's Rosette, Hygiene certification and reputation. Managing the kitchen and team in the absence of the Head Chef.

Over the busy period this role will include banqueting

Main responsibilities

* Ensure that a high standard of preparation and presentation is achieved before any dish leaves the kitchen.

* Ensure that all sections are set up and prepared for the days ahead.

* Check kitchen stocks and highlight any requirements.

* Placing orders with suppliers where required.

* Maintain and monitor all procedures in line with HACCP, COSHH and due diligence, reporting back to Head Chef regularly.

* Oversee staff on the section, training on the job, and ensure that the section runs smoothly and efficiently.

* Assist the Head Chef with coaching and management of the team.

* Ensure excellent standards in health, safety and hygiene.

* Be constantly aware of new ideas and opportunities to create new dishes.

* Ensure that all food items are dated.

* Maintain a high standard of discipline to reduce waste and accidents.

* Be thoroughly organised, proactive and decisive with a high standard of detail and quality.

* Following the guideline shift procedures, complete daily, weekly and monthly tasks plus any seasonal duties as directed by your line manager.


* Remain calm, patient and polite, if receiving customer comments, reporting any feedback to all departments and management team.

* Be confident and self-motivated.

* Demonstrate a passionate commitment to the business.

* Welcome and embrace change, with a positive attitude.

* Be able to work unsupervised in a busy environment.

* Be able to prioritise duties.

* Be honest and reliable and punctual.

* Be trustworthy and respectful & professional at all times.

* Training will be provided as required.

Hours as required, base hours are shifts 10am-2pm // 6pm-10pm

This may change to straight shifts depending on the needs of the business.

Weekend working is required.

Fine dining experience is preferred but not essential

GBP8.00 - GBP10.00 per hour depending on experience.
