Our client is part of an international recycling / waste management / manufacturing group, with its head office in South Staffordshire, currently seeking a Business Coordinator Team Leader to lead the Logistics / Supply Chain Business Support Team.

The team ensures smooth transition of material from suppliers, to the waste paper recycling mills.

Person Specification / Skills:

  • Strong Team leader experience gained from an office / admin environment.
  • Positive, proactive approach with drive and integrity
  • Ownership and accountability for own role and supportive of the larger team
  • Keen attention to detail and able to think and plan independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to challenge processes, embrace an ever changing environment and offer new ideas
  • Willing to flex working hours as the job requires
  • Willingness to travel if required
  • Demonstrate good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages
  • Experience with Microsoft Navision and SAP beneficial but not essential

Role Summary:

  1. Oversee the day to day operations of the commercial Hub team, as well as the loads, suppliers of fibre and haulage going into paper recycling mill.
  2. Providing customer support and reporting services to the National Accounts team
  3. Work with and support other members of the Business Support, Finance and wider company team and provide cover for other roles within the admin support team at Head Office. A working knowledge of other business areas will therefore be required.
  4. Oversee and lead a small team of employees. Communicate company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team. Motivate team members and assess performance. Provide help to management, including hiring and training, and keep management updated on team performance
  5. This role may require occasional travel to Mills / Depots / other sites for training and business development purposes

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the CFM / National Accounts team and take the lead to plan, administer and support the team and the recycling mills requirements
  • Take ownership of the relevant Contracts, ensuring accuracy of communication / input to the relevant IT systems and timely execution of supporting administration, accurately administering any pricing amendments or other changes
  • Co-ordinate hauliers, liaising with all relevant parties to plan the supply to the Mill
  • Create and oversee purchase and sales orders on the system to record the collection or delivery of materials, purchase or sales of goods or services / deliveries of goods or services - as required
  • Generate all relevant paperwork in an accurate, timely manner
  • Liaise with depots / commercial teams / finance dept / others to share knowledge / resolve queries and quality claims
  • Resolve any transport queries, liaising with all relevant parties, administering any correction orders / wasted journey charges where appropriate
  • Take full ownership of the verification of the tonnages / costs for Mill up to and including full month end reconciliation
  • Assist management with hiring processes and new team member training
  • Answer team member questions, help with team member problems, and oversee team members work for quality and guideline compliance
  • Develop strategies to promote team member adherence to company regulations and performance goals
  • Conduct team meetings to update members on best practices and continuing expectations
  • Generate and share comprehensive and detailed reports about team performance, mission-related objectives, and deadlines
  • Provide quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering customer enquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints
  • Coordinate holidays and sickness to make sure sufficient cover is provided
  • Ad Hoc duties as required
