EDS Design Release Engineers
Our Client; a globally operating major Tier 1 Automotive manufacturer who specialise in the supply of high technology wiring harnesses are seeking to strengthen their operation with 8 additional EDS Design Release Engineers to join their ever-expanding team in Warwickshire on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor in support of customer facing activities and working alongside the 3D CAD Design Engineer, these roles will encompass 2D EDS design, technical problem solving, change tracking in addition to launch and build support. Additional responsibilities will include:
Handle 2D designs and drawings for electrical distribution systems in accordance to the customers specification and requirements. Own specific harnesses, in conjunction with the 3D Design Engineers. Creation of engineering change request Involvement in vehicle build support with the customer. Operating in an APQP environment. Produce DFMEA’s and maintaining them during products development. Produce a 2D harness drawings. Produce electrical/mechanical proposals for EDS components. Demonstrate the products integrity. Ensure harnesses are suitable for manufacture.Qualifications and experience ideally required:You will ideally have an Engineering Degree or equivalent experience (ideally in Electrical/Electronic Engineering), although less qualifications, but plenty of relevant experience will also be considered. You should have a knowledge of Circuits and changes to 2D drawings.Experience in Teamcentre to replicate CAD changes into 2D drawings.Should have prior experience; ideally within the Automotive manufacturing or an aligned industry sector, together with knowledge and/or experience in wiring harnesses / wiring loom / EDS manufacture. You should be experienced in managing AIMS. You will understand JLR SDS / PDP 181 standards.You will be skilled in and have technical expertise in the application of engineering principles, concepts, theory and practice.You will need strong 2D CAD understanding (ideally CATIA v5).You will have a strong knowledge of tooling and materials process validation.
