The Role

The purpose of the Continuous Improvement Manager is to capture all processes, develop into process maps, and simplify our business to deliver the continuous improvement agenda, as part of our transformation strategy. Ensuring that the Retail Operational processes are efficient, effective and as simple as possible, enabling store colleagues to deliver excellent customer service.The Continuous Improvement Manager reports to the Head of Change and Continuous Improvement.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To deliver our Simplification Agenda and develop tools to embed across our store network
  • Challenge and Remove unnecessary processes that do not add value
  • Capture "as is" processes and develop "to be" processes into Process Maps
  • Develop new and innovative ways of working for Processes and Procedures that are fit for our stores
  • Develop a Store Operating Model template and populate with specifics that are scalable
  • Liaise with Key Retail colleagues to ensure solutions that are fit for purpose are developed (RSMs/ASMs/STMs)
  • Liaise with Support Centre Functions to ensure processes fit with department agendas
  • Ensure that centrally developed business activity is fit and appropriate for retail implementation
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholder across all business functions ensuring cross collaboration to deliver the best solutions for the business
  • Review and analyse performance measures in all areas of the business and communicate trends to Head of Change and Continuous Improvement
  • To promote a One Team culture and mentality between our Retail Colleagues and our Store Support Centre

The Person

  • Six Sigma qualified to Black Belt and ideally a Master / Practitioner
  • Conversant with DMAIC Problem Solving methodology
  • Project Management Skills - Agile / Prince / Kaizen

  • Ability to understand complex information or concepts quickly and disseminate it in a understandable way
  • Produce reporting and information using a suite of reporting tools including Business Intelligence
  • Responsible for ensuring that appropriate measurement systems and tools are in place
  • Ability to create Cost Benefit Analysis of investment vs return for various business initiatives
  • Time and Motion Study Skills to ensure appropriate labour budget allocated
  • Commercial and Financial Acumen
