The UK’s leading and most trusted manufacturer and distributor of quality wooden garden products is recruiting for a highly motivated Group Health and Safety Advisor to join its busy team.

Based at both the company’s main site in Hartlebury, Worcestershire and its other smaller site near Cleobury Mortimer, Worcestershire this position provides a multi-site function. Reporting into the Group Risk Manager, the Group Health & Safety Advisor will be responsible for Health, Safety matters at the Group’s main manufacturing and distribution divisions, also including the Head Office function (also at Hartlebury) and also support, when needed, to the Group’s main sawmilling facility in Lockerbie, Scotland.

In addition, the role will provide exposure to environmental and quality matters, making this a fantastic opportunity for someone wishing to take the next step in their Health & Safety career and help us develop and execute our plans to continually improve in all areas of Health & Safety. If you hold or are working toward a recognised Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate or similar), then we want to hear from you!

Main roles & responsibilities include:

  • Day to day responsibility for site Health and Safety activities at the site they are working at, acting as the point of contact for all health and Safety related queries whilst there
  • Working autonomously to develop site activities in line with group risk strategy
  • Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders to actively influence a positive Health and Safety culture, as well as focusing on the environmental risk management of the site
  • Design and deliver various training, safety briefs and toolbox talks as well as incident investigation where necessary
  • Conducting and reviewing risk assessments and method statements
  • Undertaking regular spot checks and various audits
  • Producing/presenting monthly reports and other forms of statistical analysis of collected safety data
  • Being responsible for various duties relating to the group's occupational health program
  • Chair the site monthly SHE meeting where required
  • Assist in various quality related tasks in compliance with the company's quality management system, with a particular focus on product safety

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a Health and Safety related role, ideally within a similar fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will be a strong communicator and will possess excellent organisation skills, together with a proactive dynamic approach.
