The Organisation: CareTech Community Services is a national provider of support for people with complex and challenging behaviours associated with autism, learning disabilities, mental health illness and neurological conditions. We support people to live as independently as possible within their own homes and also in residential care.

The Role: We are looking for experienced Support Workers to join us in supporting a gentleman residing in Ryton, on the outskirts on Shrewsbury. Due to the remote location, there are no/limited public transport links to this service. As a result of this and the needs of this supported individual, we are looking for drivers with access to their own vehicle. You will be able to claim mileage for travel completed whilst at work.

The gentleman we are supporting has a diagnosis of Autism, learning difficulties and OCD so prior experience working with these conditions is essential. Ideally we're looking for applicants with knowledge of Ryton and the surrounding villages as this gentleman is keen to regularly walk and cycle with staff as well as attend day time and evening activities in the area. This supported individual enjoys home cooked food and not having this can trigger behaviours as well as a breakdown in service-user - staff relationships, so the ability to cook and prepare meals is important.

You will be providing individuals with practical and emotional care, enabling them to have fulfilled lives, gain further independence and achieve positive outcomes. You will need to be flexible as you are required to work shifts including bank holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities of a Support Worker:
