Our local client is currently looking for an experienced candidate to join their team of multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers on a permanent basis. The role will consist of providing hands on support in all aspects of maintenance including responding to breakdowns and diagnosing faults. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player, with relevant engineering qualifications as listed below.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for all engineering repairs, preventative maintenance and project work undertaken to a high standard
  • Taking a proactive approach in the planning and undertaking of scheduled maintenance and at all times working in line with Health & Safety legislation
  • Contributing to the database of planned preventative maintenance system, a stock control system for the engineering stores and maintaining such records
  • Ensuring the efficient and safe running of all plant machinery adhering to all Health & Safety regulations at all times, including the referencing and reviewing of risk assessments
  • Providing appropriate quality service to enable manufacturing to achieve budgeted targets and improve operational efficiencies and capabilities
  • Recommending and implementing improvements to optimise energy efficiency including the sourcing and development of new plant equipment
  • Maintaining factory services including gas, electricity, water, compressed air, effluent, heating and ventilation. As well as compliance work for gas safety checks, PAT testing, insurance work, lifts & lifting tackle, EICR checks, Fork Lift Trucks, LEV, pressure vessels & compressors

Job Requirements:

  • Self-motivated team player
  • Engineering C&G part 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Electrical fault finding and installation experience, ideally with 17th edition I.E.E certificate
  • Experience with PLC's, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Understanding and experience of manufacturing production plant machinery

Hours of Work:

Shifts on a 4 week rota as follows;

  • Days 6am - 2.10pm, days 6am - 2.10pm, noons 2pm - 10.10pm, nights 10pm - 6.10am
  • Providing call outs 1 week in 7
