Head of PAC - UK Core Energy Team
About the roleWe are looking for an experienced senior consultant/technical specialist to head up our PAC-UK (Practical Action Consulting, UK) Core Energy Consulting Team. You will lead, co-ordinate, support and deliver a wide-ranging portfolio of energy projects in line with Practical Action’s strategic energy objectives (‘change ambitions’). You will be a centre-point for PAC Energy sub-teams/portfolio teams and wider PA colleagues - helping to drive, lead and co-ordinate business development and delivery in close partnership with others.PAC is ambitious to foster growing energy access provision; and to influence energy access planning and policy development for the benefit of poor, vulnerable and marginalised populations. To deliver this we need strong leadership and consultants who are passionate about winning, managing and delivering high quality and high impact work in the energy and development sectors. As well as working closely with PAC/consultancy colleagues, you will also engage closely with other Practical Action (PA)/charity energy colleagues to co-ordinate energy-related Technical Assistance to PA’s charity programmes and fundraising efforts. Alongside other PAC International and PA senior leaders, you will provide strategic direction to the PAC/PA energy portfolio and play a central role in developing and delivering related operational plans. About youYou are an experienced Leader, Manager and/or Mentor who is able to motivate and organise others towards common goals. You are a dynamic individual, who is able to work flexibly according to shifting opportunities and directions. You readily take initiative and ownership of projects/tasks and work in the most effective manner given any resource/time constraints. You are able to support others to develop skills and acquire experience in a team situation.You have an in-depth knowledge of the international energy sector/related areas and have extensive experience of working in this field: either in terms of technical advisory, programme management or consultancy roles (or a combination of these).
