Your new company
Hays Education are recruiting a number of Secondary Teaching Assistants to work at a PRU in Stoke on Trent. You will be working with challenging pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education or require to learn in an alternative provision. They are looking for candidates to work with young people facing social, emotional and mental health challenges and life changing circumstances. The school are seeking candidates who know how to engage, inspire, safeguard and de-escalate situations for everyone's safety and to keep young people in education.

Your new role
You will be given the opportunity, once fully cleared to DfE guidelines, of working within a range of Hays partnership schools across Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent. This will enable you to build up your knowledge and experience, as well as meet a variety of different leadership contacts and help to support a range of needs and progress further in your career in education.

What you'll need to succeed
You should have at least 6 months experience working within a school environment in the last 2 years, and experience of supporting children with SEND and challenging behaviour. You should be a hardworking and reliable Teaching Assistant, willing to complete the supporting role as required. You should be excellent with time keeping and punctuality, as well as being able to go into new settings and teach and assist different children with a variety of additional needs. You should hold a current DBS, preferably registered on the update service, or be willing to get a DBS processed by Hays.
