Accounts Senior / Client Accountant McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Top UK Accounting Firm who are continuing to enjoy very strong growth within their West Midlands office. They are now seeking a Client Accountant / Accounts Senior (Qualified, PQ or QBE) who will be responsible for managing a client portfolio of SME & OMB clients with a strong client service focus, ensuring bookkeeping and the production of management accounts are delivered accurately and on time. As a 35+ staff firm, you will be expected to solve any issues clients may have with the support from the rest of the team and key duties include: • Bookkeeping (in-house or at client premises) including processing transactions from documents provided by clients and reconciling control accounts, including Bank, Sales ledger, Purchase ledger and VAT • Preparation of client VAT returns, producing supporting schedules and completing the VAT return by HMRC deadlines • Preparing monthly management accounts to provide clients with relevant information, prepared to their required specifications • Preparation of statutory year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships. • Completion of the accounts file in accordance with internal procedures and producing accounts on CCH for review by Managers • Recording time spent on each client, submitting timesheets and ensuring work is completed within budget • Participating in team meetings, attending training and CPD updates as necessary To be considered for the role you should have strong client book-keeping, VAT and accounts preparation experience, ideally with three years’ or more expertise in an Accountancy Practice. Experience is more important than Qualifications for this role, and you should be a highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to complete assignments on time and to strict deadlines. With good organisational and multi-tasking skills, you should have excellent communication skills, be able to communicate information plainly to clients and have strong IT skills – Sage, Quickbooks and/or Xero Accounts would be highly desirable. On offer is a base salary up to £32,000 + study (if required) depending on experience along with company pension, healthcare and holidays.
