As a Support Worker you will need to develop warm and trusting relationships with people with learning disabilities to help them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. No two days are the same - you will be supporting 2 gentlemen in their own home in Uttoxeter who like to get out and about as much as possible. One gentleman does like to get out for long walks in the countryside and the seaside. One gentleman cannot walk distances. You will need to be able to drive. You will support the gentlemen to undertake household chores, including planning and preparing meals to supporting them in their leisure activities inside and outside of their home.

You will need to have exceptional relationship building skills as you will be part of an experienced staff team working inside their home. Excellent listening and communication skills and a positive encouraging attitude is a must. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills as well as good basic IT skills. Most important is a genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities to reach their full potential.
You will be required to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and "sleep ins".

No particular qualifications are required but the Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 2 related qualification would be helpful. We also offer excellent career progression, extensive training and support will be provided.
