Purpose of the role:
Reporting into the Shift Manager, the Team Leader will be responsible for the coordination of operational activities for the area, as well as the supervision, motivation and development of their team.

As a key player in our Production Team at Grandstand Road, the Team Leader will be responsible for ensuring that quality products are produced to meet customer requirements, on time and to specification in a safe and efficient manner.

Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Supervising efficiency of process, ensuring that agreed KPI’s are met (for example targets, line rates, quality, yields etc.)
  • Ensuring yields are met and the Quality of the product meets customer specifications
  • Ensuring employee and product safety at all times by ensuring full training is given according to task procedures and individual needs
  • Maintaining adherence to Avara Foods safety and hygiene standards
  • Completing any health and safety documentation for the shift, e.g. safety inspection, checklist etc.
  • Management of team; including time and attendance, welfare, performance reviews & coaching, engagement, highlight training gaps and needs, disciplines etc.
  • Ensuring all Company policies, standards, processes are met and adhered to by all personnel on shift.
What we are looking for:
  • Someone with a good understanding of the process from kill to pack, food safety, product quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Previous experience of leading people, along with effective communication and team development skills.
  • GCSE’s (or similar) in relevant subject with proven, relevant experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literate in the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to review and trend data.
