Job Title: Cost Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Rate: £210/day-possible flexibility

Duration: 12 month rolling contract

Our client is the backbone of Britain’s transport network and they are working on one of the largest infrastructure projects of its time. They are looking for a Cost Engineer with great experience in analysing data. This will be based in Birmingham.


Managing and preparing our clients Cost report, undertaking analysis of actuals variance against forecast through reviewing and understanding the underlying cost model (staffing costs and other costs) and the actuals transactions from the finance system.Maintaining our clients cost model, including updating the model based on trends and compensation events. Preparing re-forecasts periodically, based on guidance from Project Controls Manager.Review transactions to ensure correct cost coding allocations, and correct job code billing, including challenging apparently erroneous charges with the initiator.Work with team members to manage and interpret large data setsReview supplier invoices and RFPs for consistency and completeness and prepares file for PM review and signature.Prepare the project PFSR including current forecast, CWC and CTC GM earning methodology.Prepare the monthly Bechtel dashboard and President Operating report.Review, owns, updates and amends as appropriate the Excel-based services cost model used on the project.Manage the internal Trend process, including generating trend values based on staffing plan and other cost variance, and maintaining the project Trend log.Preferred Qualifications:
