  • We support individuals in our residential homes, supported living establishments and out in the community to hundreds of people on the Autism Spectrum.
Autism West Midlands are currently recruiting for support workers to work with our service users at one of our services in Droitwich, Spa. As a Support Worker it is essential that you are person centered so that you can have an understanding of their ambitions and hobbies. This role provides the opportunity to play a part in a service user’s life experience and share moments of achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Encourage and help individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations and to access the community in a meaningful way.
  • Prompt and assist service users to complete everyday tasks.
  • Support them to live a fulfilling and rewarding life.
Do I need previous experience?
Autism West Midlands are looking for open-hearted individuals that share the same passion, supportive nature, and willingness to take the time to understand others as we do.All applications are welcome however the following experience and qualifications are advantageous:
  • Experience in a previous role as a Support Worker or within a support environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Care or Promoting Independence (or equivalent) If not, the willingness to work towards it.
  • A valid driving license is essential
  • Knowledge and understanding of Autism.
  • You will be working in the core of our industry so you will need to be committed and reliable so that you can make a difference to our service.
Where will I be working?
  • You will be working at our residential homes ‘Upper Ford Lodge’ based in Droitwich, WR9. Upper Ford Lodge is a residential home for eight adults with autistic spectrum disorders
  • Hours: Fulltime 37.5 hours available, (5 shifts over 7 days) mornings, afternoon and day shifts available.
Pay: £7.90 p/h
