Pin Point Health & Social Care is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a client in the Gateshead area who provide residential provisions and support for children and young people. They are requiring a Residential Child Care Worker to work with children up to the ages of 16, due to company expansion.

The role is for a full time, permanent position working across the week and at times, night shifts. Our client offers great training and development with opportunities to progress within the company.

The Role:

You will be required to support the residential home for children and young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. With a primary focus on making sure the best outcomes for the children and young people you will also be:

- Managing challenging behaviour - Supporting with individualised care plans - Encouraging daily goals and activities - Maintaining safe environment - Remain updated with documentation and records - Keep knowledgeable with relevant legislation and policies - Promoted education and daily living skills - Undertake key-worker responsibilities

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Experience working within Childrens Residential settings is beneficial, however experience across Mental Health, Probation & Prison & Secure Services and similar settings will be accepted.

- NVQ 3 (or above) in Children and Young people or similar Qualification - Experience managing challenging behaviour - Understand the importance of providing a stable environment for children - Experience of working with children with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties - Driving Licence is essential
