Dimension of Function:

MBD engineer for a high end Electric SUV - Chassis & Vehicle Dynamics Simulation.

Area of Responsibility:

Responsible for the setting of vehicle dynamics and performance targets, through both benchmarking and identification of innovative ideas.

Develop component, system and vehicle-level virtual models, and rapidly iterate designs through simulation to achieve vehicle attributes in Suspension.

Work on comprehensive projects in Chassis systems (Suspension) using multi body simulations to investigate dynamic behaviour and generate load data for further FE simulations.

Constructing models, launching simulations, evaluating results, proposing technical solutions.

Work closely with stakeholders and attribute owners across the project (Vehicle Safety, NVH, Aerodynamics, Durability, Manufacturing, Program Management, Purchasing, Finance, etc.) to find optimal solutions for the complete vehicle.

Manage and present project status to ML/CE.


Knowledge/Experience:

Expert in multibody simulation of vehicle attributes (preferably MSC ADAMS Solver/Car/Ride/Tire).

Experience of vehicle-based objective and subjective assessment of benchmark vehicles.

Understanding and experience of vehicle dynamics theory and application.

Ideally have worked on OEM/suspension and suppliers with good communication skills.

Project planning.

DFMEA, DFA, DFM experience.

Proven record of managing multiple complex projects in a matrixed, fast-paced, high growth and changing environment.

Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach.


Competences:

Strong project management and ability to lead more junior engineers.

MBD engineer with expert knowledge of suspension systems and interactions with other chassis systems.

Excellent presentation skills required to report project status to the CE/customer.

Able to work under pressure on complex suspension systems.

Travel domestically and internationally as required.
