West Mercia Women’s Aid is the leading regional charity working with those who have experienced domestic violence and abuse, with over 30 years of service delivery and campaigning.  We are seeking to recruit:

             INDEPENDENT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVISORS

Full Time and Part Time Roles Available

Based in Worcester, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin

Salary:  £23,180 p.a.

As an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor you will be part of helping us achieve our mission of reducing the incidents of domestic abuse in the West Mercia region. 

The role is to provide crisis support and advocacy to victims of domestic abuse who have been assessed as being at high risk. It requires knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse issues and the needs of those affected by it, and a commitment to the values of empowerment and equality.  You will in addition liaise with external agencies, and participate in local MARACs (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference).

You will have experience of working with vulnerable people providing emotional and practical support. Whatever your background you will have strong casework management skills, good written and verbal communication, and an understanding of the importance of maintaining professional boundaries
