THE COMPANY

Apollo is the UK’s largest privately-owned liquid adhesive, sealant, coating & primer manufacturer. We supply high-performance products worldwide across a range of industrial, construction, roofing and end-user markets. Supply is direct and via distributors, under the Apollo and private-label brands.

THE ROLE

This is an exciting opportunity for a logical, detail-oriented project manager, with a passion for continuous improvement. You will be the driving force for continuous improvement across a variety of departments. This is an exciting opportunity to work with teams to promote efficiency and improvement, using both proven techniques and your own new, innovative initiatives to solve problems.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES

• Develop improvement plans and associated benefits aligned to Business need.

• Carry out improvement activities by involving local personnel and teams.

• Deploy company-wide training in business improvement tools and techniques.

• Use data and associated information to demonstrate bottom line benefits and cost justification of improvements.

• Keep records of deployed training and feed into HR function.

• Work with departmental heads to ensure suitable resource is allocated to activities.

• Support the creation and control of standard operating procedures and associated documentation.

• Support the development of operational performance measures (e.g. OEE).

THE INDIVIDUAL

You will be a driven and engaging individual, who is highly motivated by business improvement and encourages others to be the same. You will have the ability to lead and provide coaching in the area of continuous improvement, and act as an ambassador for various related practices and processes within the business. You should have experience in facilitating long-term Lean and Six Sigma projects in a manufacturing or engineering environment and enjoy the challenge of embedding lasting change in those areas.

You will have an understanding of relevant and useful tools and techniques, including:

• 5c/ 5s of workplace organisation
• Visual management
• Standard work
• 7 wastes
• Set-up improvement
• Line balance

Having the ability to solve complex problems and make effective evidenced-based decisions will serve as an essential skill in this role.

A background in engineering or manufacturing is preferable as well as a relevant degree (e.g. Manufacturing, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering).

Other relevant qualifications, or areas of interest include: Six Sigma Green Belt, Six Sigma Black Belt, Root Cause Analysis, NVQ Business Improvement Techniques (Level 3).

SALARY

£30,000 - £40,000
