We are partnered with a growing and very well-regarded business within their industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join them on a full time, permanent basis as a Academy Programmes Manager.


Our client is looking to recruit an Academy Programme Manager who will implement the vision of the company and provide effective leadership for the Academy, aligning with our business evolution strategy, driving the talent pipeline to address the UK critical cyber skills shortage and to evolve leading technology solutions. They will create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and success, delivering a high standard of training for all students.

The aim of the Academy is to deliver training and education in line with the National Strategic programmes, to enable the delivery of services that will contribute to the development of UK's national capability.

Responsibilities
The role will be responsible for:

  • People Management:
    • Responsible for managing Academy support staff in the course of their duties
    • Exercise effective staff management, lead and motivate students and tutors and generate effective working relationships at all levels
    • Establishing performance goals for all Academy support staff
    • Managing performance improvement for all Academy support staff
  • Academy Operations:
    • Responsible for managing the Academy business plan, establishing annual budgets and overseeing expenditures reporting back to the Head of Business Operations on a monthly basis
    • Management and continually review of Academy policies, course design and day-to-day procedures to ensure the delivery of a high-quality training environment
    • Responsible for future employee development including, technical, product and compliance training
    • Identify and recommend career pathways, succession planning and employee engagement for all students within the Academy
    • Ensure processes effectively foster an environment that produces a highly engaged workforce
    • Monitor and establish metrics that ensure Learning and Development is efficiently and effectively aiding business units to meet their business goals
  • Public Relations:
    • Representing the Academy on behalf of SecureCloud+ at events, activities and acting as chief public relations spokesperson for the academy
    • Maintaining close relationships with Academy partners, both industry and academic
    • Promoting the Academy in all aspects of its delivery, growth and activities on a day-to-day basis
    • Promote the Academy ethos in which the highest achievements are expected from all members of the Academy community
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Lead, plan and direct course design across both the Cyber and Next Generation IT Skills training programmes.
    • Build cross-functional relationships to create an environment of collaboration and innovation
    • Manage and execute, as appropriate, ideas and challenges that emerge out of the innovation process

Qualifications

  • A technical understanding of most of the following:
  • CompTIA A+, N+, S+ knowledge and awareness
  • IS027001 awareness
  • Information Security Management Principles
  • Awareness and Knowledge to technologies such as Virtual and Augmented Reality
  • Awareness and Experience in leading analytical tools, such as R, Python, Hive, Spark as well as functional analytics across various domains


Skills, Qualities and Experience

  • A good understanding of current HMG security classifications
  • Initiative and pro-activity, matched by an ability to be a strong member of a team
