Manufacturing Apprentice

Brief overview of the role

To support in a manufacturing and engineering department learning the processes of various machinery such as CNC Machines, Water jet cutting machines and Saws.

Vacancy description

Duties include:

·Support the Manufacturing engineers in the day to day running of the department

·Work on in-house activities such as cutting and machining processes to ensure they are completed and on time in full

·Learn the use of programming various machines, select tooling and ensure implementation of a robust repeatable manufacturing process

·Assist Manufacturing Department in developing existing/creating new processes/systems to improve quality, costs and delivery

·Receive training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills as required i.e SAP, programming

·Adhere to health and safety policy and other requirements relating to care of equipment

·Adhere to the company policies

·Carry out additional activities as may be required from time to time by the Operations Manager

·Undertake any project work to develop portfolio to achieve BA Level 3 status

Desired skills

·Good communication skills both oral and written

·Excellent computer skills and be able to complete your work to a high standard

·Knowledge or experience in engineering type of work is advantageous
