SF Group are recruiting an Assistant Buyer for an established business in the Tamworth area.
Objectives of this Role:
To manage the effective delivery, on a day to day basis, of all purchased materials and products in response to business requirements. Assisting in maintaining the ERP purchasing data integrity of all purchased stock
Raising and expediting purchase orders for packaging in line with business requirements and targets
Ensuring inventory is kept to a minimum without adversely affecting the operation of the business, providing justification for increased levels
Reviewing MRP parameters and recommending adjustments in line with usage history
Ensuring timely and accurate price monitoring, with price movements reported, and the impact of these movements clearly communicated
Effective management of the supply base to ensure that any "value add" is obtained, business needs are met, and that any disputes are avoided or have no detrimental effect of the business
Sourcing and gaining approval for new suppliers/materials, as appropriate
Assisting with annual stock takes, as required
Relevant skills and experience:
Proficient knowledge of ERP based purchasing systems.
Previous purchasing experience.
Computer literate - in particular, experience in the use of ERP systems
CIPS qualification or working towards
Good communication/interpersonal skills
Developed analytical skills
Creative approach to problem solving
