Our client is a highly successful and expanding accountancy firm based in the heart of Stoke on Trent. They are looking for a bright and ambitious Trainee Accountant to join their team due to company growth. Boasting fantastic offices and a friendly working environment, this is the perfect opportunity for a Trainee Accountant to provide support to a variety of clients.
Job Description:
The Trainee Accountant will report to the directors responsible for the clients and will be responsible for:
- Preparing the annual accounts of limited and non-limited company status clients
- Assisting with statutory audits
- Producing final draft accounts and tax computations for review
- Producing management accounts, cash flows and budgets
- Providing a full range of company secretarial services
- Organising your workload so you can prepare accounts and tax returns efficiently within time and budget constraints
- Checking-in clients records and notifying them of any deficiencies, whilst assisting the improvement of their bookkeeping systems
- Meeting with the client manager and agreeing the approach to accounts preparation for each client
- Assisting clients with their accounting software, including installation/training
- Attending training workshops, which may occasionally be outside of normal office hours
Candidate requirements for the Trainee Accountant role:
- Studying AAT/ACCA/ACA
- 2 years' experience within an accountancy practice
- A 'people person' with the ability to communicate with a varied client-base
- The ability to use/learn a variety of accounting software including Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
Hours: Monday to Friday, Flexi time
Salary: Negotiable
