RUGBY

Monday - Thursday 7:30am-4:15pm

Friday7:30am-12:30pm with 1/2 hr lunch

Circa GBP25,000-GBP35,000 depending on experience

JOB PURPOSE: To produce accurate estimates of job costs.

MAIN FUNCTIONS -

* To take data provided by customers or prospects and use that data to provide the company with an accurate estimate of the time and materials required to achieve the desired output.

* From data provided by the customer produce estimates of overall production time, material demands and labour requirements. From these estimates, produce a figure that the company can reasonably expect to demand for the job, achieving a reasonable profit in the process.

* To provide programming capability in support of shop floor management - up to and including 5-axis.

* To provide advice and guidance on both current and future methods for manufacturing prototype and small batch production volumes.

* To be comfortable applying this knowledge to products made from Model Board, Steel, Aluminium and Cast iron.

* To be aware of best-practice speeds feeds and tooling in the defined materials.

* To be comfortable collaborating with colleagues, and customers, in producing this information for both quotation and production purposes.

* To be comfortable using both Excel and ERP software to calculate estimates.

* To lead the analysis of job costings, in order to assess departmental and operator performance and material consumption, against estimates.

* To produce project plans for those projects converted to Sales Orders

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS -

* To assist senior management in the preparation of company development schemes.

* To assist senior management and operators in the most efficient programming of production projects in order to achieve estimates.

* To assist senior management and operators in the most efficient machine setting and handling of production projects to achieve estimates.

* To carry out any reasonable request made by management for the good of the company.

* To work the necessary hours to achieve targets.

PREFERABLE PERSONAL COMPETENCIES -

* The person will be organised.

* The person will have a broad range of experience across CNC and manual machines up to 5-axis.

* The person will have current experience across a range of CAD/CAM software.

* Experience of working in a prototype/small batch machining environment.

* Experience of working to ISO9001, TS16949, and/or AS9100.

* The ability to work with the minimum of supervision, and yet to appreciate when to seek assistance or support.

* The ability to comply with Health and Safety legislation.

* The ability to contribute to the continuous improvement of methods on the shop floor.

* The successful candidate will be able to manage his/her own time in an effective way.

* The successful candidate will be reliable and comfortable within a technical team environment
