Job Title: Payroll Officer

Location: Coventry

Salary: £22,000-£24,000

Our client, a market leader in their industry, is seeking a Payroll Officer to join their organisation in Coventry. The successful applicant will receive up to £24,000 per annum depending on experience.

Your duties as Payroll Officer will include:

  • You will be responsible for entering payroll information into the payroll system
  • You will enter starters and leavers, including setting up their commission levels and targets
  • Entering changes to existing team members
  • Entering sickness and absence information and checking we have the relevant forms
  • Ensuring the POS system has the right information on hours of work and commission structures
  • Tracking and managing of payroll deductions; e.g. court orders
  • Recalculating the gross payments due for any attendance corrections after payroll has posted and arranging for payments
  • Responsible for collating amendments and making the alterations, reviewing the trial register to check for accuracy and obtaining approvals
  • Ensuring the correct signatories have authorised the relevant pay forms and changes
  • Updating and maintaining the flexible benefits website, ensuring all up to date information is ready for the annual renewal, communicating with new joiners, assisting people with queries, producing letters
  • Answering ad hoc queries from /for the inland revenue
  • Answering calls from managers and team members and dealing with their queries when relevant, passing them on to the managed service for resolution when appropriate
  • Completing requests for information such as benefits agency forms, mortgage and rent references

The successful Payroll Officer will demonstrate:

  • Experienced in payroll processing and calculation
  • Experience of working with complex commission structures would be preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Great communication skills, especially by phone and email
  • Advanced excel skills and able to work with complex spreadsheets
  • Able to build effective working relationships
  • Experience of working with the ADP payroll system is preferred

  • Full time hours; 9am to 530pm Monday to Friday
