Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk/ AP Clerk - Redditch - £18k-£22k

Greenwell Gleeson are recruiting for a business based in Redditch, which has experienced strong growth over the past 5 years and plans to increase sales and profitability in the future.

Job Title

Temporary AP Clerk, reporting to the Financial Accountant in the Finance Team.

Job Overview

The Company is looking to strengthen the Finance Team on a temporary basis to March 2019 with an AP Clerk to help administer supplier payments. The requirement is driven by a need for extra resource to support the business during a period in which a new booking system is being implemented.

The AP Clerk will primarily reconcile supplier statements to our existing booking system on a weekly basis and initiate the relevant payments to suppliers.

The individual will need to communicate successfully within the business, advising colleagues in the Finance Team on issues identified in a clear manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Analyse supplier statements and reconcile them to the existing booking system using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets

  • Ensure supplier payments are made in accordance with the prescribed deadlines

  • Identify where variances between statements and the booking system have occurred

  • Communicate findings to colleagues in the Finance Team

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous purchase or sales ledger experience is preferable

  • Experience of using company cash books

  • Naturally driven and good problem solving skills

  • Experience of using Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets, including VLOOKUP formulas and pivot tables.
