SIG Distribution is going through an exciting transformation. Following a reorganisation of our sales function we have an exciting Territory Sales Manager (TSM) position covering the Derby and Coventry territories. The TSM role has responsibility for a portfolio of accounts, with a focus on cross-selling our full range of products to them and retaining their customs in this very competitive market. Are you a sales person who thrives on overachieving targets and building and maintaining profitable business? If so, this role is for you. Whilst preferable, previous Construction industry experience is not a pre-requisite for this role.
What does the role involve?
This re-organisation of the SIGD sales teams means giving our customers a dedicated sales resource and the attention and support they need to deliver projects on time, with the very best building materials. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, the role itself will be centred on providing a solution based sales approach to both existing and new customers within Derby and Coventry area. You will be expected to develop, plan and work against targets within your territory. With allocated customers, you will plan and develop approximately 60 existing accounts, whilst allocating around 30% of your time to new business development. There is a strong focus on field activities like customer, construction site and developer site visits and will require the ability to sell across the full SIGD portfolio based on identifying customer needs.
The successful candidate will be required to show experience in building lasting relationships and have the drive, capability and confidence to make personal visits, presentations and calls to both existing and new customers. You will be able to demonstrate the ability to think creatively, with high ethical standards and will need to be professional, well-organized and a self-directed individual whilst being eloquent, communicative and assertive. To help you achieve your potential, you will be supported by the Regional Sales Manager who will provide mentoring and coaching.
The key attributes we need applicants to have are; a strategic/structured and successful background in territory/field sales, the proven ability to solution sell (rather than just selling on price) and a genuine desire to be the best sales person within your market.
You will work closely with the other SIGD external and internal sales roles to maximise customer value where large national customers are delivering on construction projects within your territory.
To apply, candidates should have proven experience in sales in B2B industries and have strong analytical and data management skills. Ideally you will have experience of using Salesforce CRM and strong MS Office is expected.
