Our client are an automation services business who provide safety critical automation into a niche market. They are looking to expand their team with a Electrical Design & Controls Engineer due to the high demand of their product. This is a new and exciting opportunity to be part of a recognised business within the automation industry.

The Person

The right candidate will have a qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Automation or Mechatronics with a genuine passion for engineering, and have a naturally creative and innovative mentality. Our client is looking for someone who has a real passion for electrical design or controls, whether it be as a hobby or has worked alongside experienced engineers and is interested to learn more.

Looking for a candidate with 'practical' engineering skills to complement the theory. This could include hobbies ranging from building/refurbishing cars or motorcycles to getting involved in activities such as programming classes. Effectively the right candidate will be a passionate engineer all-round.

The right person will be confident and able to communicate at all levels.

Excellent knowledge of electrical engineering and automation.

Any experience in electrical design including schematics, layout and control panel work.

Experience using electrical CAD packages or PLC programming ideal

Could come from a panel building/wiring background, with the desire to learn more design.

Have high ambitions - looking to grow and develop.

Have the willingness and ability to learn.

The Role

First and foremost, you will be working alongside the Electrical Design Engineer, having the opportunity to expand your knowledge and get training in areas such as software and design. You would also be working alongside the Controls Engineers to understand what they do in their role and begin to take on parts of a project, having the support and guidance throughout.
