Are you a Workshop/Maintenance Manager from a heavy fabrication background looking for a senior technical role where you will have the full responsibility for the entire technical and engineering team?

Are you looking to shape, develop and grow an Engineering team of 16?

This is a brand new role for the business who have a full order book for the next 2 years and an opportunity to put your own stamp on a growing, thriving business.

On offer is an opportunity to be responsible for the overall organisation, management direction and control of all factory functional departments and to ensure that production output is maximised.

You will also be responsible to organise and control all production within the factory to achieve all output targets in terms of quantity, quality, unit costs, and customer service requirements.

Although this company is an SME with a £2.5 million turnover they are part of a Global Engineering group and have over 9 sites across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an expanding business and long term opportunities will present themselves throughout the group.

This role would suit a Workshop Manager from a heavy fabrication background looking for a senior technical role where you will have the full responsibility for the entire technical and engineering team.


  • Direct and control all factory staff to ensure that they are properly motivated, trained and developed, and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards and in accordance with health and safety standards.
  • Schedule and co-ordinate all aspect of production operations, to ensure that output and quality & delivery targets are achieved.
  • Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure that plant and equipment is effectively maintained to ensure maximum production efficiency.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts with contractors and suppliers to ensure the cost-effective provision of services to the factory.
  • Develop and implement short- and long-term plans to ensure that the factory has the necessary resources to meet business objectives
  • Develop effective working relationships with all employees to ensure the maintenance of harmonious employee relations within the factory.
