About the role

Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you will help the business understand how much revenue it generates in the UK, and from what sources, leading accurate revenue accounting for the UK. You will ensure that all income is recognised in the appropriate period from an accounting perspective and build relationships between the finance function and operational teams within IRESS. Working in close collaboration with Financial Operations and the Financial Planning & Analysis teams, you will report on variances between actual and expected financial outcomes, working with the Finance Business Partner for each area.

About you

  • You will be a qualified accountant with a strong background in diverse finance functions
  • You will be confident in Excel including complex formulae, report building and version control, with the ability to work with large data sets

  • Excellent attention to detail is key and you'll be capable of identifying problems and creating checks and reconciliations
  • You will have demonstrable, extensive experience working for a large, diverse and complex business

  • A detailed knowledge of IFRS15 is essential

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to manage your own tasks will come naturally to you


What you'll bring to the team

  • Running revenue recognition process and posting ad hoc adjustment journals to the General Ledger

  • Processing deferred and accrued revenue schedules, manual recognition journals and ad hoc project revenue

  • Drive accurate and timely completion of monthly revenue accounting and analysis

  • Act as the conscience of the business, challenging Finance Business Partners and the business to ensure revenue recognition is in line with IFRS15

  • Provide data to Finance Business Partners to drive management information

  • Investigating variances and liaising with selling functions across the business units to make sure that revenue aspirations are managed, ensuring that financial outcomes are well understood
