Provide and carry out general catering duties and tasks in an effective and efficient manner and in accordance with "best practice" procedures.
* Ensuring that all meals are prepared presented and served correctly to patients in wards following set procedures and standards, liaising with nursing staff.
* Ensure a high standard of both personal hygiene and food handling practices are adhered to.
* Preparing meals for delivery to wards with correct dishes as ordered
* Disassembling meals from wards and general wash up
* Ensure all cleaning equipment and chemicals are used following the correct procedures, which includes "clean as you go" and COSHH
* Ensure the presentation of food is always attractive and to a high standard of service and customer satisfaction.
* Ensure all work schedules are fully implemented in a timely and efficient manner.
* Undertake duties in a safe manner, according to 'Food Safety Management System' and ensure that equipment is used and maintained in an appropriate manner.
* Ensure all equipment is checked beforehand, used correctly, cleaned and stored away after use. All mechanical, electrical & physical faults on equipment should be reported.
* Work as part of a team to provide a quality catering service around the hospital site in a friendly and purposeful manner.
* Attend training courses both in- company and elsewhere to meet and enhance the service of the Department.
* Ensure a clean and tidy appearance at all times.
* Follow cash handling procedures
Co-operate fully in ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Take reasonable care of your own safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions, including patients, staff and visitors. Not intentionally, recklessly or otherwise commit any act that adversely affects measures taken to protect the Health, Safety and Welfare of you or other users of the hospital
All applicants must have a valid enhanced DBS and also a food hygiene certificate.
70 hours per fortnight working alternative weekends. Shifts will rotate; WEEK 1: 07:30 - 15:30 WEEK 2: 11:30 - 19:30
