Siemens is recruiting a Commercial Project Manager (CPM) for Long Term Programs (LTPs) in our Warwick office.

Siemens has created a dedicated finance team to support the sales and execution of LTP projects in the oil & gas and power generation sectors. Its key function is to ensure that the cost and margins on projects are accurately estimated during the sales phase, that risks and opportunities during the execution phase are optimised, and that the financial reporting of projects complies with Siemens Financial Reporting Guidelines.

Our aero-derivative turbine business is focused on the supply and support of aero-derivative gas turbine packages and equipment to the global oil & gas and power generation markets. What are my responsibilities?

  • Supporting local and regional sales teams in relation to financial and commercial aspects of the projects during the acquisition phase, including pricing, cost estimates, risk & opportunity management, tax, import and export control as well as compliance.

  • Collaborating with corporate tax to ensure that efficient and tax compliant trading routes are established prior to contracting.

  • Providing commercial input to the approval process for the appropriate level of authorisation before submission of a binding offer.

  • Ensuring New Orders are booked in a timely manner and in line with Siemens guidelines, and accurately reflected in the financial statements.

  • Providing financial and commercial leadership during the execution phase through partnering with the LTP project managers.

  • Ensuring correct assignment, monitoring and controlling of project costs

  • Identifying and financially assessing opportunities and risks, defining suitable measures for reducing risks or realising opportunities and taking precautions for remaining risks.

  • Building relationships with teams executing projects in other regions to be able to ensure global control of projects is maintained. In most cases you will have 'World Project Controller' responsibility.

  • Preparing commercial information for regular project reporting/project status discussions/milestone reviews (deadlines, costs, quality, cash collection).

  • Ensuring correct assignment, monitoring and controlling of project costs

  • Building effective working relationships with Product Line Management, Region & Country management, corporate functions, wider finance and PM community.

  • Supporting the preparation of budgets and forecast for projects (e.g. Order Entry, Revenue, Gross Margin)

  • Ensuring correct foreign currency accounting within projects and management of currency risks through execution of financial derivatives.

  • Support the development and maintenance of sound Risk and Internal Controls Process (RIC)

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Experience as Commercial Project Manager or in a similar position with responsibility on project results including budget, financial management of risk, opportunities and claims

  • Significant experience in different finance related functions, e.g. project controlling, accounting

  • Experience of working in SAP and Excel

  • Ability to present information in a clear manner to non-finance staff (verbal & written)

  • Ability to provide financial and commercial leadership to stakeholders

  • Effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) or equivalent
