My client based in Lichfield is currently looking to recruit an ambitious and enthusiastic Management Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant will maintain a robust control environment through the completion and review of the balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations and produce accurate and timely financial management information and management accounts.

Management Accountants Key Accountabilities:

The creation of accurate management information all areas of the Society, in the development and provision of a world class standard transactional operation.

Communication and visibility of risks and opportunities relating to Key Balance Sheet Accounts

Ensuring activities are aligned to the vision and design within Finance Shared Services

Regular communication with key internal customers on important issues, Finance Business Partners being a key stakeholder.

Delivery of all services within resource allocation

Management Accountants Duties to include:

Develop and through effective management of allocated resources, deliver a service which meets the agreed SLAs / KPIs / CI for this area of operation

Embed a culture of continuous improvement in all areas of operation through Perform, with a particular focus on process improvement

Ensure work is delivered in line with agreed processes and procedures

Perform / provide support to other ad-hoc activities/duties/projects

To support the external audit and review processes

To liaise with the Decision Support team and highlight variances to budget or forecast that require business stakeholder involvement

To provide financial support to the Business Support Centre functions through the provision of periodic reports and analysis and attendance at management meetings

To assist in the production of statutory accounts for both the group and individual entities

To contribute to the planning process, ensuring all corporate functions produce robust financial plans, aligned to the organisations strategy and impacts of new initiatives are captured and quantified

Escalate errors and rework to accountable owners. Ensure that processes are adhered to and report issues to the Finance Manager

Review delegated balance sheet reconciliations, identify and make recommendations on areas for improvement and implement action plans to resolve any issues. This includes working through with Finance Business Partners.

Ensure that all process changes are effectively communicated to the Finance Manager and other key stakeholders

The successful Management Accountant will have/ be:

Newly or Fully qualified ACMA/ ACCA

Ability to work collaboratively with cross

functional colleagues and colleagues across Financial Control and Shared Services

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Excellent attention to detail both in the preparation and reviewing of data

Must have prepared complex management accounts using a variety of both system and manual processes

Able to challenge information and processes effectively

Able to demonstrate strong technical accounting skills

Able to demonstrate a track record of improvement

Must have Intermediate Excel skills and experience in manipulating large quantities of data

Ability to work collaboratively with senior colleagues

Ability to adapt to change

Able to lead and support other members of the team

Ability to work off own initiative and work to strict deadlines

Highly organised with an ability to stay calm under pressure and deliver to tight timelines

Strong technical skills (audit experience desirable)

Ability to challenge current practice and processes with an eye to continuous improvement and delivery of a world class finance infrastructure

Experience of change management
