Assistant Strategy Manager - Commercial Strategy

This role is a great opportunity for a strategicthinker to get close to the workings of the UK's largest general merchandiseretailer, whilst having the freedom and exposure to interact regularly with avariety of stakeholders across the company. Commercial Strategy is responsible for defining the strategy thatunderpins our Buying and Merchandising function and will empower our growingbusiness to support this agenda in the coming years.

What will you be doing?
You willboth lead and support on a range of projects that contribute to the success ofthe team responsibilities. As a result, your work can make a real impact to ourcustomers and has the potential to focus on a variety of areas, such as rangingprinciples, shopper missions and channel mix.
To do thisyou will:
Get to the answers, and the rightquestions: Shape thepertinent questions that will drive most value, create hypothesis and translatethis into analysis requirements to ultimately reach distilled, actionablerecommendations for the business.
Articulate conclusions clearly: Identify the most appropriate means tocommunicate findings and recommendations, create the relevant content andpresent to the right people.
Manage stakeholders: Work with business teams acrossTrading, Marketing, Digital & Supply to build relationships, collaboratingparticularly with Senior Managers, Buying Managers & MerchandisingManagers. This could be through setting up & leading working groups,running workshops or working directly with individuals.
Programme management: Lead the response to ad hoc managementqueries, align workstreams ensuring they ladder up to our total team purpose,and ensure that dependencies required from other teams are aligned to ensurethe success of the broader project.
