Part time Finance Assistant

£20- 22k pro rata
Based in Tamworth

The Company

My client is a family run business who were founded in 1986 and have been servicing the hospitality industry with their food and machines ever since. They cover the full spectrum of the hospitality industry from some of the world’s top hotels and restaurants as well as local cafes and guest houses.

They pride themselves on providing all-natural ingredients at the most affordable prices.

The role

They are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to record all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments. The Finance Assistant will post information to accounting journals/software and reconcile accounts to ensure their accuracy.

This role will be part of a small, friendly team within a growing business and there is the opportunity to grow within the company.

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Recording day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Verifying that transactions are recorded in the correct day book, suppliers ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
  • Entering data, maintaining records and generating reports and financial statements.
  • Processing accounts payable
  • Credit control
  • Bank reconciliation

The ideal Finance Assistant will have:

  • at least 3 years bookkeeping experience with a solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
  • Proficiency in English, in MS Office and preferably Sage 50 Accounting
  • Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

This is a Monday to Friday role. Hours can be negotiated but applicant must be available to come in every day. The role requires a minimum of 25 hours per week.

Must have own transport due to the business location.
