The Job

As our client's Pharmaceutical Quality Manager you will have overall responsibility for: the effective day-to-day implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement and development of their Pharmaceutical Quality System; and maintaining compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) (in relation to contract analytical services). You will coordinate Regulatory Inspections and client audits and formally respond with any required corrective / preventative actions.

You will also: plan and operate the internal audit program; perform supplier / sub-contractor audits; coordinate and operate the document control system; maintain the approved supplier and sub-contractor lists; and coordinate the internal and external calibration schedule. Training and reviewing the competency of the Quality Assurance staff to ensure that cGMP is adhered to at all times is also an important part of the role.

The Person

The person our client will appoint will: hold a qualification at degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline (microbiology or chemistry); will have knowledge, skills or experience relevant to the pharmaceutical industry; and experience in a quality management role. Organisation skills and exceptional attention to detail are crucial to successful performance in the role as are excellent written and verbal communications skills along with the ability to engage people at all levels.

Complementing their established consultancy services for medical devices and drug delivery systems, their Pharmaceutical Testing Laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility operating from their headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent. It is approved by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for all aspects of chemistry and microbiological testing, which includes sterility, LEL and AET.
