One of the largest national automation resellers with over 100 years of history is looking to recruit an Internal Sales Engineer. The role will see you deal with both new and existing customers over the phone. The ideal candidate for the Internal Sales Engineer will have experience within the automation industry and hold an electrical engineering qualification.

The Internal Sales Engineer will manage and interpret both new and existing customer requirements - to understand, anticipate and practically meet their needs.
To follow up sales leads generated by marketing activities via telephone.
To identify potential customers and follow up to achieve new sales or, where appropriate, book appointments for field sales engineers.
To initiate regular and systematic telephone follow up of customers and maintain records using CRM system.
Offer customers a product or service that best satisfies their needs in terms of technical specification, quality, price and delivery, for your range of products.
Provide pre-sales technical expertise and product education to new and existing customers.
Calculate accurate and competitive sales quotations and prepare tenders, proposals, designs and technical documents to meet customer deadlines.
Follow up quotations in a timely manner to secure profitable orders.
Offer after-sales service and support to develop and grow long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
Build close relations with key suppliers in order to develop in-depth knowledge of our product range and to understand new product developments.
Solve customer problems in terms of technical solutions.
Meet and exceed the agreed specific performance objectives.
Maximise sales by continually expanding orders and up selling on all incoming and outgoing calls.
Liaise on a daily basis with your colleagues and update them on any developments in your work, ensuring a high level of team relationships exist.
Ensure the external sales team are kept informed of any developments relevant to their accounts.
Attend and actively contribute to Sales meetings to keep colleagues informed about customers and your product range.
Attend occasional site visits and customer meetings in order to provide technical expertise for your product range.
The ideal candidate will hold an electrical engineering qualification and have experience of working with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers). Essentially the candidate will have worked in a product sales environment ideally in electrical automation. A good amount of sales experience is required also.
