Job Title: Purchase Ledger Clerk (Perm)
Hours: 8.30-5 Monday-Thursday & 8.30-2 on Fridays
Salary: Up to £22,000 per annum
Benefits: Study support towards AAT qualification, pension & 20 days holiday plus bank holiday. Holidays increase by 1 day with every 2 years' of service

Reed Accountancy are working exclusively with a business based in Tamworth with a view to recruit a purchase ledger clerk on a permanent basis.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Matching invoices to delivery notes, coding and inputting onto accounting system
- Supplier statement reconciliations
- Posting company credit card statements
- Obtaining authorisation from MD to approve overhead invoices
- Weekly payment runs
- Sending remittances
- Completing BACS payments to suppliers
- Resolving invoice & payment queries
- Completing monthly accrual for the FC

Other duties include:

- Monthly bank reconciliations
- Assisting FC with prep work for year end
- Compiling and maintaining intrastat documents
- VAT returns
- Intrastat and EC returns
- Sales ledger/ credit control duties as and when required
- Authorisation of sales invoices
- Credit checks
- Reception and telephone duties as required

Person Specification:

- Competent in the use of Sage 50 & Excel
- At least 3 years' experience in purchase ledger
- Part AAT qualified would be advantageous
- Ability to communicate with suppliers and customers professionally and effectively
- Ability to work to tight deadlines
- Discrete and professional as the right candidate will have access to sensitive information
- Have experience in processing more than 1000 invoices per month
- Take responsibility and be accountable for your own performance
