The Seals & Bearings business of Morgan Advanced Materials specialises in the development and manufacturing of seals and bearings from a portfolio of materials including; carbon, graphite and silicon carbide

The Cell Engineer role is based at our Stourport site and reports to the Production Cell Team Leader.

There are various shifts available.

In this role you will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and total productive maintenance (TPM) activities for various production processes such as pressing, grinding and / or lapping. This is a vital role ensuring the machinery delivers quality components in line with output targets.

Key responsibilities include:

    Setting machines in accordance with H&S regulations and the process control plan

    Adjusting machine cycle times to achieve component specification and target output rate

    Interpreting component drawings to determine component specifications

    Using measuring equipment to ensure components meet specification.

    Using tools such as SMED to improve change over efficiency to reduce down-time

    Introducing shadow board and line side tooling to reduce waste

    Monitoring equipment spares and consumables, replenishing stock when required

    Responsible for championing 6S and developing a culture of lean

    Performing & developing PM & TPM activities to ensure continuous operation of machines, monitoring the condition of machine parts, replacing when required

    Training others to set & operate equipment safely and to the process control plan

    Working effectively with suppliers to develop processes by using new technologies

    Working closely with the Manufacturing Engineers to develop process and technology

    Liaising with QC's and other process owners to ensure quality standards are being achieved

    Successful applicants will have the following qualifications/ experience:

    Essential Qualifications

      An Advanced Apprenticeship level or equivalent in an engineering discipline

      A GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths

      Desirable Qualifications

        A Yellow Belt Lean qualification

        Essential Experience

          Previous proven experience in a production machine setting role

          Experience of managing within a strong H&S Culture
