DLO Team Leader - GBP32k pa plus company van and fuel card based in Leek (Staffordshire) Can be paid on an hourly rate if prefered.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established Social Housing provider based in Staffordshire for a DLO team leader. This will be on a contracting position for either 6 months fixed term or contracting.

You will be responsible for the Day to day management of responsive, void and planned maintenance projects to ensure the successful completion of the works within constrains of budget, time and quality of health and safety.

Management Duties:
• To lead on the day-to-day management of contractor functions and suppliers ensuring that maintenance and reinvestment projects are delivered on time and within budget;
• Provide clear leadership and direction to the DLO Operatives
• Supervision of and responsibility of the DLO Operatives and
Sub Contractors;
• Assist the DLO Operations Manager in developing maintenance and investment works project plans;
• Assist in the DLO Operations Manager in the selection of suitable potential subcontractors;
• Monitor and control site works and costs in line with contract preliminaries;
• Manage works variations from DLO Operatives and subcontractors;

Must have experience of managing or supervising trade operatives ideally within Social Housing.
Excellent appreciation of professional and project based site management matters.
Strong knowledge of building legislation and maintenance management best practice;
Strong interpersonal communication skills;
Ability to set and achieve targets and monitor performance of self and others;
Proven planning, co-ordinating and organisational skills;
Commercial awareness to identify and support development of new products and services including digitalisation;
Good understanding and management of compliance, health safety and risk;
Excellent IT skills;
Ability to adapt to change in a quickly changing environment;
Ability to solve problems - to be flexible and adaptable and able to respond to situations creatively;
Ability and willingness to make a positive contribution to team culture and to inspire and gain the
GCSE Maths and English or equivalent and/or relevant technical qualifications;
SSSTS - Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme;
IOSH - Institute of Occupational Safety & Health;
Tetra ladder safety training (or similar approved)
