Due to our continued growth we are now recruiting for a Systems Engineer/Architect to work on Automotive Body Network projects from our customer site in Gaydon

Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

The Role:

Designing the system architecture and functional partitioning around the existing components wherever possible and suggest introduction of new components

Area of Responsibility

  • System Architect for body control systems: Doors, Seating, Lighting, Climate, Sunroof, Memory, Passive Entry and Anti-Theft systems.

  • Designing the system architecture and functional partitioning around the existing components wherever possible and suggest introduction of new components.

  • Define the network signal requirements which include both CAN & LIN to support the introduction of new features.

  • Ensuring new features introduction in the JLR product lines. Designed the system architecture of personalization feature, auto sunblind feature, seats switches integration in to doors and LED headlamps.

  • Future proofing the EE Architecture: Make sure the EE architecture strategy supports future requirements, thereby minimizing the impact on the system and sub systems.

  • Supporting the JLR Research team in electrical integration of the new technology in the series production adhering to the JLR GTDS (Global Technology Development System) process.

  • Support component owners in the cost down activities.

  • Carry out the interface analysis and work out the possibilities of integrating hardware components and moving software functionalities.

  • Integrating JLR feature lists in PREEvision and modelling the body electronics features in PREEvision.

Knowledge / Experience

  • Basic understanding of automotive systems and networks

  • Strong experience in System Architecture for body control systems as outlined above.

  • Previous experience in an automotive OEM/Tier 1 is required

  • Experience in managing and coordinating cross functional technical and project related requirements.
