This is a new and exciting opportunity to play an important role on the work of the new Aspire to HE consortium that is part of the HEFCE-funded National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP). NCOP aims to increase the number of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in higher education by 2020. Aspire to HE is integral to the University’s strategy for delivering Access and Outreach activities into schools and colleges. The aim of the programme is to inform and motivate targeted students about the opportunities that are available and to support them on their progressive journey into higher education.
The purpose of this post is to provide full administrative support to the Aspire to HE outreach events team. The post will include the handling of information and preparation of reports and includes work of a confidential and sensitive nature. You will ensure all administrative systems are in place both for the effective running of individual events and projects and to meet any necessary monitoring and audit requirements.
You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, have experience of developing office systems and procedures and have experience of MS Office Systems including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines is essential as well as ability to work with minimal supervision whilst working effectively within a team. You will ideally have knowledge of the UK Education System and budgetary and financial systems.
